Fighting Character Application

There won't be very many fighting characters, BUT, if you want to get one approved - especially if you want to start out at high rank, you're going to have to make them exceptional. Below is an explanation of the required fields for your initial character application, and below that is the code you need to copy and paste to use on your application to make sure it's ready-to-be-read. Remember, if the staff reviewing your application doesn't think something fits, they may ask you to change or justify it. Also, stats will be rolled by a prepared staff member once everything else is approved, and adjusted accordingly.

Name: From the mundane to the extraordinary, the most important thing is to make sure you can live with the name you’re given. State their full birth name, as well as what they are now known as.

Age: Make sure this matches up with your history! The bigger number here, the longer bio we’ll be expecting.

Height: How tall is your character? In feet and inches please.

Weight: How much does your character weigh? Please take their height into account and list it in pounds. (If your character is conditioned, and you're not sure how that will affect their weight, take the following US Army male Height-Weight chart and US Army female Height-Weight chart into consideration.) In addition, if your character is a SOLDIER, you need to adjust for increased density. Approx. 5% increase for Third Class, 10% increase for Second Class, and 15% increase for First Class.

Gender: What gender is your character?

Town of Origin: Where were they born? PLEASE NOTE! If you say you’re from anywhere other than the given RP Points, you have to submit an additional form detailing the approximate location, estimated population, notable characteristics and any details that will help flesh it out as a real, playable location.

Appearance: In words, describe what your character looks like. Start at the ‘bones’ and work your way out – what physical condition are they in? What’s their body type? What’s their skin tone? Eye color? Hair color and style? What are they wearing? Are they visibly armed? You don’t need to go into their whole inventory, but if there’s something they’re never without, it’s best you list it.

Personality: Give us a peek into your character’s mind. How do they think? How do they interact with others? What are some of their personality traits – virtues? Vices? What do they like? What don’t they like? What motivates them? What are their life goals? Their beliefs?

Affiliation: In case you didn’t take note of the year and its significance, the world is at war right now with the Wutai War. So, are you in Shinra? Wutai? Avalanche? Or are you an independent agent, out for nobody but yourself?

Gil: How much money your character has, right now from the start, and later, added on to from paychecks and monster droppings.

Equipped:What weapons, materia, shards and whatnot does your character have equipped at the moment?

Inventory: What other items does your character have in their possession?

Bio: Everyone has a history. Everyone has a past. Your character may not know theirs, but it’s there, and we want to hear about it! More detail is better, talk about the little things – family life, home life, school, milestones, previous jobs and relationships… also, please note the Timeline and make sure you are in alignment with it!

Limit breaks: If you've ever played the traditional FFVII, you know all about Limit Breaks. But just in case, I'll quote Sephiroth...

Quote :

All fighting characters have Limit Breaks, but not only do you have to get them approved, you have to earn them. However, if your base level is 10 or higher, you automatically obtain your first Limit Break, with additional points towards your next Limits.

Special Abilities: Special abilities are both different and like limit breaks. They're different in that they're not strictly level reliant, because not everyone develops them - hence "Special" Abilities - but they are the same in that they have to be approved; it helps approval if you can justify how your character got them. Some are inherited. Some born with. And that's ok. But, more are learned and passed on. Think carefully about how this will affect your character's personality and story.

RP Sample: Give us an example of how you would RP your character! Make sure it gives a real feel for how they behave, and who they are.
