How We Met - July, 1992 - Private RP Part 2

He was honestly a little surprised that he didn't really feel angry at the blond anymore. He actually felt relatively neutral, though he supposed seeing him calm, albeit tired and confused might've helped a little. "Can I hide in your apartment for a little while?" Sephiroth half-expected Nan to say no. He certainly hadn't wanted him around yesterday afternoon.

Nan blinked owlishly for a few moments trying to get all this through his head. "You want to hide...here?" Why in the world would he want to hide...Wait.. He tilted his head slightly looking over Sephiroth, really looked over him. His hair was still a mess showing he had just woken up, he was half naked and he was trying to hide. Nan snorted hard at that. "Who's bed did you end up in?"

Was Nan always this slow in the mornings...? Or was it just because he was drunk yesterday? Sephiroth's nose wrinkled at the question, and he answered sourly, "Reno's." He turned his eyes back up to the blond, "Can I come in or not?"

Snorting he moved back inside in a silent motion that Sephiroth could come in. "I take it that didn't exactly make you very happy huh." Rude had come by last night and helped him clean up all the broken glass. Moving back into the kitchen since he was up he started the coffee machine. "So what did they do.. strip you down, drizzle lube on you? leave a few sex toys out laying around and some condoms?"

Closing the door behind him, Sephiroth brought a hand up to rub his eyes when he accidentally looked over at the window. He wished they'd just finish getting back to normal already, though he was glad he could see, the persisting light sensitivity was getting really annoying. Sephiroth blinked at Nan for the questions, and realized it could have been much worse. He knew what lube and condoms were, but he wasn't quite sure was a 'sex toy' was. If it was anything like the name, though, he likely would've been even more embarrassed. Either Tseng had gone easy on him, or he'd been too rushed to do the rest. "Yes to the first, no to the rest."

"Just stripped down? man who ever did that to you went easy, normally it's the whole nine yards... I didn't think you drank though.." Filling his cup he brought another one out of water for Sephiroth and held it out to him. "Normally the waking up in someone else bed is reserved for if you pass out drunk..or you really pissed someone off and they drug you."

"I don't drink," Sephiroth grumbled, taking the glass of water, but only took a tiny sip. "Even if I did.... I don't even know how much I would have to drink to pass out with my BML." He looked down at the cup in his hands, turning it slightly. "I don't even know why he did it."

"It's a prank, just one of the many, that one is used if someone is really passed out. I don't think a single one of us has been exempt from it." Nan sat down in one of the chairs keeping his distance from Sephiroth in case he still wanted to hit him. "It's not meant to be malicious or mean, it's just one of the stupid ones we do... it's how we keep sane. When we're not pulling pranks on one another.. that's when we all take real notice of the person."

"I was passed out - in bed. That's kind of the point of going to sleep. With what happened last night I'd been hoping for a peaceful morning." Rather than claim a chair, Sephiroth sat on the floor, leaning against the arm of the couch and set the glass of water on the floor beside him. He pulled one knee up so he could lean on it instead, ducking his head. "I hope Tseng got a laugh, because I certainly didn't."

Now he had to know what had gotten into Tseng to do this. Picking up the land line he called Reno as he was sure the red head had been told. "Hey you were in on Sephiroth's prank.. did Tseng say...... uh huh.. really now? uh huh... alright thanks Reno." He hung up the phone and glanced over to where the sulking teen was. "According to Reno.. Tseng stated that you not only kicked him out of his own bed, but muttered in about five different languages that he was and i quote a "noisy panther who growled too much and you should have used more catnip..." he then pounced you and you muttered "More sleep bad cat" He then laid on you and started snoring by your ear and you said " no more growling.." And he rolled you off the bed...you never waking up once." Nan snorted hard at that taking a drink of his coffee, "I don't think anyone would have passed up that opportunity.. That is out."

Sephiroth blinked a little owlishly. He'd said... that? It was a little funny, he could admit... he certainly thought of Tseng as catlike, especially with his nickname and habitual purring. It took him a moment to realize why he'd spoken in multiple languages instead of Midgarian though. Letting his head fall on his arm, he muttered, "Stupid nightmare." He knew all the continental dialects, more fluently spoken than written, but he didn't really use them unless someone else spoke to him in one. The fact that he'd used Nordic during his nightmare likely jogged it and the others to the forefront of his memory. He hadn't realized, however, that he sleep-talked.

"Once I fall asleep I don't really move at all, I doubt I kicked him from the bed even if he was snoring. If I'd been awake enough to do so, I'd remember saying those things." Sephiroth paused a moment, before adding, "I can believe that I called him a cat, though."

"I can." Nan chuckled taking another drink. "He is very cat like, for one thing, if he's happy he purrs....don't ask me how he manages it but he does. He loves to be petted, he always seems to land no his feet, and he stretches like one. Lets also add in the fact that he can contort his body like a damn cat." He tilted his head to the side thinking, eyes wandering up towards the ceiling. "On missions he's very cat like, can moves silently and can stalk anyone from the shadows, and he can perch on just about anything and not make a noise." In the long run comparing Tseng to a cat was very very easy.

Listening to Nan talk, Sephiroth lifted his head just enough to look over his arm, watching the blond. He could see that he missed him already, and it hadn't even been 24 hours yet. The blond was back at the starting line as far as he was concerned, it was up to him to get back in his own good graces. He'd been nice enough, though... that he was willing to push him in what he thought the right direction was to at least gain his brother's forgiveness. "He's only going to accept your apology if you say it to his face, you know."

Nan's smile faltered on that, and he slowly looked down, fingers clenching tighter around his coffee mug. "No he won't.. I know he won't forgive me this time. He told me flat up the last time we fought that if this happened again that was it... he wasn't going to put up with me." Sighing dejectedly Nan curled his legs up on the chair hiding slightly behind them. "Thanks though.. for at least telling him."

"There's a difference between acceptance and forgiveness," he pointed out quietly. "That you won't say it to his face just says you don't think he's worth apologizing to." He narrowed his eyes, "If you think my brother isn't worth it then maybe I should hit you."

"It's not that easy Seph.. When he's been hurt emotionally... he goes from a cat, to a spitting cobra." He shook his head laying it on his knees. "He won't accept any form of apology, even if it is to his face... facing him just gives him a better opportunity to deck you. He's been hurt way to much to forgive people that hurt him." He could see that in the way he spoke of Wutai and his father the rare times that he did. "I know it's over Sephiroth, as much as I wish it wasn't... I know when to bow out."

"Is that all you learned growing up rich and spoiled? To be a coward?" Sephiroth snorted, and though he turned away he kept the blond in his peripheral. It was a risky thing, provoking a Turk. "Maybe he'll deck you - but not for apologizing. He'll deck you because you took so damn long to work up the courage to apologize. He'll respect you for apologizing. Using others as a messenger only makes him angrier."

Nan flinched at that looking away, he didn't dare say anything, his hangover making his normally non-existent temper rise up. "You don't know what he will do, you've only been with him a little over two weeks.. no he won't respect me for finally facing him." No Tseng was not that forgiving, he never was and never would be.

"So what if I've only known him a few weeks?" Sephiroth scowled, lifting his head again to fully face the blond. "I know what he's told me, and not once has he lied to me. He told me how he hates it when you use other people to apologize, how he hates that you expect such a minimal effort to receive forgiveness. Stop being a heimsk ljóshærður, Nan, I know you're smarter than that."

"Sephiroth, he's a chronic liar.... he lied to you in what he told you. I've never used anyone before you to tell him i'm sorry, I've always called him cause he normally takes off. We're Turks Sephiroth, we lie constantly, so much so that it becomes who we are." He sighed softly and glanced to his phone seeing what time it was, way to damn early to be up with a hangover.

"A liar telling me I've been lied to..." his lips quirked slightly, not phased in the least. It was a bit of an exaggeration, saying Tseng hadn't lied to him, but Sephiroth knew most of what he said to him was truth. That he hated Nan not putting his full effort into apologizing was one thing he was quite sure of. "I've been lied to my entire life."

"Than it shouldn't be that hard to spot when someone is..ugh...if your going to stay here.. stay out here. i'm going to take a shower." His head was killing him and hot water always seemed to help, he needed one anyway he stank from sweating all night. Thermostat was still broken in his room and it had been as hot as hell last night. Setting his coffee down he stood and headed back to the shower.

Sephiroth didn't respond, just watching him as he left the room. As he listened to Nan move around, running his fingers through his hair to neaten it, a ghost of an idea formed in his mind. He waited until he heard Nan step into the shower before standing up and quietly moved across the room. Since he was dealing with a Turk, he took careful note of how the phone was lying before picking it up and flipping it open. First thing he did was switch it to silent, so that there wouldn't be any interruptions and Nan wouldn't notice any replies. Scrolling through the contacts, he found his brother's name, and typed out a carefully worded text. He knew it needed to sound enough like Nan for Tseng to believe it was actually him. Unsure if Nan used shorthand, he kept to short words.

Can we talk? Hitting send, he flipped the phone shut and set it back exactly where Nan had left it. He didn't return to his spot on the floor just yet, though. His brother might need more convincing.

Groaning at the sound of his phone going off, Tseng blindly reached for it on the nightstand. Who ever was texting him better have a god damn good reason, he was in the middle of a wonderful dream and he was warm and so did not want to move. Grumbling he flipped it open, eyes darkening as he saw who it was from and what it said. Yeah no.. not happening. he punched in #%!@ off and hit send, rolling back over to return to his nice dream.

Sephiroth saw the screen flash and opened it, snorting at the message. Tseng was still pissed. He was nothing if not stubborn as all hell, though, and wasn't giving up so easily. Please... he typed back. Sephiroth had to time this carefully, though... he didn't want Tseng turning up before Nan got out of the shower.
