How We Met - July, 1992 - Private RP Part 2

What were the options...? Tseng hadn't left, he knew he was still there, he was paying far too close attention to have not heard him move. But he couldn't make out his breathing anymore. From the swimming he knew that Tseng could hold his breath for minutes at a time, but that felt wrong in this case. That first new breath would always be heavier, and seemed to him something an Elite Assassin wouldn't do. Maybe a Junior, but not an Elite.

Unless... it wasn't that he wasn't hearing it... He knew his own breathing was always louder to his ears no matter how quiet he tried to make it. He hadn't heard every breath of Tseng's... his eyes opened a little at his realization, but it didn't phase him this time. He was more annoyed by how Tseng had disguised his breathing.

Tseng resisted the urge to chuckled seeing the annoyed look. So he figured it out, poor kid. Shifting his weight he waited until Anubis sat up from his spot on the bed and started to scratch at his ear and used the dogs movements to cover his own as he set down on the bed right next to Anubis. Waiting and watching silently for his next move, still holding his breath so it could not be heard.

He thought he heard something, but couldn't be sure over Anubis' movement. Something did seem different though... Had he moved while Anubis had? Slowly, and as quietly as possible to avoid covering up any sound, Sephiroth sat up.

That was perfect, he didn't even had to move for this. He wondered if after this he would have a nice view into the apartment above his. From his position next to Anubis not shifting the weight on the bed he slowly reached out and gently trailed his fingers over Sephiroth's cheek.

Sephiroth jerked away, startled, head turning sharply to look in Tseng's direction. It took a moment for his wide eyes to relax, blinking, staring unseeing at a spot nearer Tseng's shoulder than his face. He remained leaning slightly away, even if it wasn't the most comfortable of positions. So he had moved.

"Hi.." chuckling softly he got out of the uncomfortable crouch and moved to sit next to Sephiroth. Stretching out his legs to get the cramp out that had formed in his calf. "How long were you able to track me?"

Sephiroth turned his head to follow him, making sure he wasn't about to make him start over again. Gradually, he straightened back up and relaxed, tilting his head at the question. Technically, being night, the bet could be considered over, but it could be argued that it wouldn't be over until midnight - and it wasn't that late yet. Assuming Tseng meant when he'd lost track of him, he gestured at the last spot he'd heard him breathing. Though he hadn't moved much since behind set down, he wasn't sure he was straight on the bed, but it had seemed like it was the foot of the bed based on the other noises he'd heard.

"Seph you can talk you know.. it's late enough i'm just going to call it." Reaching up shaking his head he took his hair down from it's hold and shook his hair out. "You lost me around the base board.. that's because I was on the board..I was crouched down there balancing on the wood. I waited till you figured out I was mimicking your breathing before moving again, I used Anubis as a cover and set down right next to him when he started scratching. "

"... on the board?" The frame was rather solid, but even so it must've taken a lot of practice to jump up silently and accurately - though there was the question of why his brother would practice something like that. Or perhaps more to the point... whether he had started practicing it before or after he left Wutai.

"Yeah, one of my last... uh.. missions is Wutai was to take out a Shinra dignitary.. They refused to sleep in our beds but brought in their own with foot boards. " He shrugged laying down next to Sephiroth. "His squeaked horribly..." He normally didn't like headboards and foot boards but Nan had talked him in for certain reasons and now he could tolerate them. "Now it's just fun to sneak into the other apartment and just sit there at the foot of someone's bed and watch them freak."

Sephiroth was actually a little surprised that he didn't really feel anything about Tseng saying he killed someone. He'd already known he had before, he'd seen him kill - and the name 'assassin' implied he was killing for years before he'd left Wutai. That he'd killed a dignitary seemed more a detail than something to fear. He wasn't sure if the fact that he wasn't disturbed should disturb him.

Sephiroth snickered slightly at how Tseng had adapted it as a sort of prank.

"Veld hates that I can do stuff like that, sneak up on even him or the other senior Turks and they never know I am there." He smirked and rolled over laying an arm around Sephiroth waist closing his eyes. "They also started locking all their windows cause they discovered that I had absolutely no problem scaling the walls of the building and sneaking in through the windows."

Feeling Tseng shift, Sephiroth stayed put, but let his right hand rest on the arm slung over him. The mention of windows made him think of glass and reminded him of earlier. He didn't really want to put Tseng in a bad mood again when he was in such a good one... but maybe it was the best time to. He had told Nan he'd tell him... and he didn't like to lie. He'd just have to be careful with his wording.

"Do... you still want to know how I cut my hand, Niisan?" He didn't quite turn his head to look down at him, facing nearer the edge of the bed.

Tseng's whole arm tensed up at the mention of Nan, it was an involuntary reaction and he tried to loosen the muscles. While he might not really want to discuss anything that had to do with the blond Turk from Bone Village, he had told Sephiroth that if he wanted to talk, he would be here for him. "Go ahead." It wasn't a yes or a no, but he would listen.

Sephiroth frowned slightly at the reaction and response, unconsciously rubbing Tseng's arm with his thumb, fingers gripping a little more firmly as if to keep him where he was. He was silent for a long moment, considering how best to begin. He certainly didn't want to mention the nunchuck first, or really at all. "He tried to get me to just leave it and go, at first." Sephiroth didn't bother using the blond's name. If Tseng hadn't realized already, then he would soon enough. "I refused."

"The living room was a mess; torn pillows, the table was shattered." He turned his head a little more towards Tseng, but still not quite facing him. "He'd been crying. I didn't feel comfortable leaving him with all that glass. When he realized I wasn't going to leave, he helped me clean it up. I was distracted and cut myself on the glass."

"He asked me to tell you he was sorry."

"Just like him.. go through someone else instead of facing the mess he made." Tseng curled up around him drawing in on the heat of his body for comfort. "Can't just come down here and face me.. always goes through someone else and hopes I just up and accept his apology.. again.." He felt his eyes starting to sting and quickly shut them turning into the comforter under him wiping away any renegades.

Something about that didn't seem quite right... Sephiroth tilted his head, frowning.

"You're wrong, Niisan." He was not more annoyed than afraid of the fact he still couldn't see, moving his hand from Tseng's arm to his hair - though he missed at first to find only his shoulder. "He blustered at first with me... but after he was resigned... Maybe I still have trouble with emotions... but I think he doesn't expect forgiveness at all."

"He'll be lucky if he gets it this time." His voice had turned dark, but you could still hear the hurt in it. "This happens every time he finds a way to get drunk, he finds something to attack me for, sleeping with someone else... talking to someone else, holding a picture of my mother cause i'm homesick.. daring to look at a woman as she walks past. And every time it's the same thing.. we fight someone hears and throws him out.. he balls as he's coming down and tells who ever finds him.. normally Rude of MA to tell me he's sorry. I'm tired of it..."

Sephiroth sighed softly. Everyone kept telling him this had happened before... and it frustrated him a little that even Tseng was comparing it to past fights. Just from what he'd heard, he sincerely doubted Nan had ever gone as far as he had this time. Remaining silent, he started running his fingers through Tseng's hair. Hopefully tomorrow would be much calmer, or at least less stressful.

"Now I see why Veld is the only married one..." Sitting up he changed position so that he was laying down in Sephiroth's lap now with his arms around his waist hugging him. "We agreed we weren't exclusive that we could sleep with who ever we wanted, the two of us just got along the best, Katana bowed out early..." He had to wonder if Nan had anything to do with that one.. Reno was a give in the two were close but the sexual part was a one time thing. "Maybe I should look to SOLDIER for a boyfriend.. any good ones coming up? I got my eye on a cadet, though I don't want to know what kind of monster he's going to turn into when he gets his injections."

He brought his other arm around Tseng as he felt him move, ducking his head a little so he was looking towards his knees. "I don't know many SOLDIERS... or any Cadets." Anyone he had met when they were a cadet was no longer such. The few he still had any contact with were all in SOLDIER now.

"Damn..... Guess me an palmala are going to be very good friends for a while since you've stolen my other go to guy." And speaking of which he raised a hand and waved it in front of Sephiroth's eyes, he should have been getting some of his vision back by now. "Can you see that?" He had the dimmer on low so there was light in the room just not very bright.

He felt Tseng move, the absence of one arm and the whisper of silk leading him to assume he was waving his arm. There wasn't even a flicker in his vision. He'd hoped to at least be able to pick up the movement by now... but it seemed his bad luck today was holding out with fervor. Sephiroth's face fell, resigned to being blind a while longer. "No."

"Not even knifes eyes stayed this bad when she looked into a flash bang. Hold on..." Pushing himself up he headed out for the land line since he didn't feel like looking for his PHS. Hitting the speed dial he leaned up against the kitchen counter waiting for it to pick up. "Hey Katana.. yeah yeah shut up..Seph ended up looking into a light when the power came back on... huh.. about forty five minutes, no he says he couldn't see me waving my hand in front of his face. uh huh.. alright will do." Putting the phone back on the receiver he moved back into the room. "Katana says to give it another fifteen minutes and if you don't get some form of vision back to call him." It really was nice having someone that was taking RN classes off and on.

Staying put as Tseng left, he turned his head as he tracked where Tseng was, leaving him facing him when he returned. He was less afraid and more annoyed by the handicap of being blind. He hoped it didn't take too much longer, he would actually like to shower before bed tonight, and he'd prefer to not do that in complete darkness. "Is it bad that it isn't returning yet?"
