How We Met - July, 1992 - Private RP Part 2

Sephiroth was extra glad now that he'd watched how much he ate despite how good the food was. If he hadn't he'd likely be in a similar state to his brother - and unable to appreciate the humor in his behavior. It more than made up for not eating as much as he'd wanted to. Laughing quietly, Sephiroth got up and prodded Tseng's side as he picked up his box.

Cackling she looked over and threw the pastry which was caught easily by Anubis. Tail wagging and leash trailing behind him, he walked up to Sephiroth and stuck his nose up in his hand. "Knew he would find us..." Tseng slowly opened his eyes and looked over to the door seeing Two Gun's jacket disappearing around a corner. "You're going to spoil him Mama..."

"You already spoil him, Niisan," Sephiroth commented as he pet Anubis in greeting. By his standards, at least, the doberman was quite spoiled, though his only comparison was the Guard Hound Kennels in Sector 0. He was a little surprised that Anubis had come to him first, though, even considering he was holding a container of food. He would've thought that Tseng got that right over him.

Tseng snorted rubbing his eyes and stood up a bag from his pocket and unfolded it to a pretty decent size. "Go ahead and put the boxes in here. I figured we would be buying stuff down here so I brought a few of these so we weren't carrying everything in our arms." He really did love cargo pants, he had so many damn pockets to hide things it was a pickpockets nightmare. Letting Sephiroth pack up he reached down and grabbed Anubis leash.

That.... was much easier than just carrying the boxes. Taking the bag, Sephiroth stacked the leftovers neatly inside, and decided that as drowsy as Tseng seemed it was better he carry it than his brother. At least until he was more alert. "You said.... wall market next?"

"Yeah, give me anything important like any gil or your ID." He was waking up quickly, and didn't want Sephiroth to be carrying those things around on him. Wallmarket was the best place to get robbed and they would zero in on Sephiroth instantly cause he would have that air about him. "Thanks again Mamma Odie, I'll see you in a few days." He had a shift below plate coming up and knew he would be coming back for lunch.

Sephiroth nodded, handing over his ID, his phone however, he shifted from his pocket to sort of clipped onto the collar of his shirt under the sweatshirt. Maybe it wasn't an ideal spot, but he didn't think anyone would think to grab there. He just didn't want to hand it off to Tseng if he didn't have to.... there was always the possibility of being separated.

Taking the ID card he slipped it into a special compartment in the leather gauntlants and pulled his shirt sleeve back down. "Alright, let's go... hopefully Shinra isn't down here today." He shivered violently and headed back out and headed towards the actual market. He reached back taking Sephiroth's hand, Anubis keeping right next to him as they walked through the large entrance and watched the crowed warily. "Welcome to wallmarket..."

It was just about as busy as Little Wutai had been, give or take a few dozen people. It also seemed that half the shops were street vendors, while the other were small buildings or re-purposed vehicles. From where they were he could spot what he thought was an Accessory shop out of a trailer, judging by the ribbons and necklaces that were hanging up. What looked like a dress shop on the left hand side... and ... was that a hotel? He blinked slightly, supposing that there was a need for hotels below plate just as there was above it.

Eventually, his eyes trailed to one of the nearest shops, this one out of a sturdy looking vehicle that if he looked closely enough had some heavy duty locks installed on it. Not something that would hold up against a determined Second or First, but enough to deal with thieves or monsters. He couldn't quite tell what they were selling... until a person in the way stepped out of the way. Materia.

Glancing around he wanted to flinch seeing two Junior Turks that were going to be shipped to Junon at the end of their training standing towards a back alley. Great.. the fat ass was down here..Lovely. Glancing around he saw two saving graces. "Seph, why don't you go check out the materia table and take Anubis with you, I'll be right back alright."

Sephiroth blinked, a little confused that Tseng would purposefully separate from him here even if he kept Anubis with him. It was Materia though, so he stifled his confusion and nodded, taking the leash from his brother. With one final look at Tseng, he stepped away and moved over to the man selling materia.

The shopkeeper was like a hawk with his merchandise, keeping most of it out of reach so no one could snatch one on the run. "Looking for anything specific?" At the shake of his head, the man pushed the case of magic materia towards him to look through. It turned out to contain mostly unused basic elemental materia.

Making sure that Sephiroth was alright for the moment he moved over to a vendor selling accessories picking up a simple black beanie. It wasn't the best looking thing on the planet but it would do for the time being and it wouldn't restrict Sephiroth field of vision. making sure to keep the Gil he revealed in his hand he moved over to where Rude was standing. "Morning Rude... sorry.. but I need to borrow these." Before the dark skinned Turk could protest Tseng reached up stealing the sunglasses off his nose. "Thanks, and I know you have at least four more in your jacket.. i'll give you some of my mamma Odie's to pay you back." Rude merely grumbled as Tseng took off back into the crowed, he would be making sure he held up that end...

Moving back over to Sephiroth he reached up pulling his hoodie down and quickly put the beanie on, making sure all his hair was inside and and set the glasses over his eyes. "Hey sal, why don't you show my brother here the good stuff huh."

Sephiroth withheld a squeak at the hat shoved on his head, pushing the front of it up a little, though he made sure it still covered his eyebrows. He tried to turn to look at Tseng, only to blink as the sunglasses were shoved on his face and his vision was tinted. It was still relatively clear, but what had once been almost blinding lights were now dull enough to look at directly.

"I guess if you're the one paying," the man bent down for a moment, before setting another case on the counter. It was mostly the green of magic materia, but there were a few others mixed in. Curious, Sephiroth reached in, careful to only touch one at a time. One of the yellow ones had him releasing it almost immediately, and it took him a moment to match the feeling it gave to a kind of materia, Manipulate. It made his skin crawl a little. Turning his attention to the two red ones instead, the Summons, the first, much like the Manipulate, didn't feel very comfortable to him.

The second, though, he actually picked up. It felt a little.... cold, though it was a different kind of chill than he might get from an ice-type materia. It felt more like.... metal. No, not metal, a weapon. He couldn't remember a summon that used a weapon, though... maybe it was one he hadn't read about.

"If i'm the one paying? You remember the last time you tried to scam me...." Yeah he would not put up with this guy trying to scam him again, he might not be able to use materia, didn't mean he was stupid and didn't know what he was picking up or how much it was worth. The Turks while not huge on materia use, did like to have an ample supply if they did need them.. that and they like hording the rare ones to taunt SOLDIER with.

"Who do you got there Seph?" Summons he wasn't as familiar with unless they happened to have one there and someone told him what it was. He checked out a few of the others, testing out what he felt and found a couple he knew Veld would want.

"I'm not sure..." He tilted his head slightly, trying to get a better feel than just that it was a weapon-wielding Summon. Something about it reminded him of Bucephalus. "He's not one of the one's I've read about or handled before." Sephiroth knew there were about ten summons confirmed to still exist, he knew seven of them, and had only handled three.

"Let me see." Gently taking the materia from Sephiroth, he could tell instantly what he had in his hand. This was one of Knife's pride and joys, he got to touch it once before but she almost never left her version out of her sight. Now key thing would be if Sal knew what he had, it was very likely he didn't but if he gave any indication that it was a good summon he would try and rip them off like he always did. "Do you know what this one is?" He kept his voice dull like he was thinking about it but it wasn't really impressing him any.

Sal reached out to touch the materia, before narrowing his eyes in consideration, before finally saying, "That one is 15,000."

The only reaction was a single slightly raised brow, taking the materia back he glanced it over, and shrugged. "Think I'll pass... not worth that much." Though when he set it down he kept it more towards Sephiroth, a silent signal to the teen to watch it and watch it carefully. You had to know how to work with these guys, they always wanted money and there wasn't many people in the slums that could afford materia like that. The only way you got lucky was if a second or first class SOLDIER wandered down, but most thanks to the ability to manufacture materia, didn't anymore.

The next offer came a few minutes later, at 12,000 gil. In that time, Sephiroth had come across a materia that had the same shifting feeling as his third Limit. Considering the effect said Limit had had on the mission, he deduced it had to be a Transform - not very useful in a fight... but potentially amusing outside of one.

Tseng looked back at him catching Sephiroth playing with one he seemed to like. "12,000 for the summon and the one my brother is playing with." If there was one thing you learned in Wutai was how to bargain, especially from the women who were notorious for it. And as a priest skipping out on martial arts.. he had a few days or free time to kill and people watch.

Sal seemed to do some quick math in his head as he looked at the green orb in Sephiroth's hand. A few seconds later he countered the offer, "14,000 for the two." Sephiroth tried to hide his confusion at that price. Transform was relatively rare from what he knew, and materia of similar rarity usually sold for at least 10,000. He supposed the fact it was nearly useless in a fight would decrease the value, though.

"13,200... final offer." He kept his face straight, not betraying anything he was thinking right now. He didn't bargain with the man often, as he usually just full up called him if he was trying to scam and down here in the slums.. that was not a good thing so he always tried to quiet him down before he got too loud. He knew he wouldn't have to do this this time because the price was really good, but he didn't want to pay over fifteen for them.

Sephiroth found the man's face as he hesitated rather amusing. He'd seemed about to press for something higher until those next two words. But after a few moment's he sighed, "Deal..."

He kept his face blank as he handed over the money along with the money for the few magic materia he had picked out for the others. Catching movement from the corner of his eyes he cursed slightly, taking up the materia quickly he grabbed Sephiroth's hand and drug him away through the crowd and ducked into one of the few ally ways and pushed both of them up against the wall hiding them in shadows.

He was startled by Tseng's cursing, and a little unnerved by how Tseng had them rush away. "Niisan..." Sephiroth murmured too quietly for anyone else to hear. "...Why are we hiding?" As much as shadows made him feel a little safer than being in the open... he hadn't seen what had his brother making them hide. Though... maybe a better question would be if they were hiding from someone Tseng didn't want to be seen by - or someone he didn't want recognizing him.
