Being set down he winced and bit the inside of his cheek hard to keep from crying out in pain. His world was spinning more violently forcing him to lay back against the cold ground and take several deep breaths. "I never should have taken that medication... just dealt with the sneezing and stuffed up head. I would have heard them from miles back and stopped them before they ever reached the camp.." He had failed Veld, one stupid little mission and he had #%!@ it up so badly.

His masters words ran though his head almost like a ghost from the past. He took several deep calming breaths, the anger bleeding from him leaving him completely calm once more. He had always had a fiery temper, and that had been his greatest downfall. He couldn't afford to let his anger rule him today.

Sephiroth didn't reply, standing and looking around the campsite. He'd been lucky with his own bag it seemed - it was relatively untouched, Tseng's however . . . looked as if it had been all but torn apart, the contents strewn across the ground. Taking the rucksack in hand, he started to go about collecting everything, shaking dirt out of clothing and staring for a moment at the shattered remnants of what had once been a phone. His spare sword was still lashed to his bag, the one he'd used before nowhere to be seen.

As he pulled his pack onto his back, he had to pause a moment. Closing his eyes and taking a slow breath to stem the pounding in his head, one hand coming up to cradle his forehead.

Seeing Sephiroth was in no better condition Tseng pushed himself back up onto his feet. "Sephiroth, you shouldn't be carrying that..." Putting a hand to his head, stumbling back some but managed to stay upright. The adrenaline which had been fueling him was wearing off and the exact extent of his injuries were starting to become well known to him.

No, he could not show weakness, never was he to show weakness. Taking several more calming breaths the pain vanished from his face leaving it completely blank of all emotion. "We're heading back to the farm, if nothing else than to alert Veld of anti Shinra members and he can send a few Turks out to investigate."

Sephiroth dropped his hand, but kept his eyes closed for the moment, listening to their surroundings. He couldn't hear much, the local monsters were inactive during the night. There was movement in a few directions, but not enough to be able to make out anything more than it not being caused by the wind. "I can handle it," he murmured, steeling himself and opening his eyes. Walking would be a good distraction from his headache.

"The whole point is you're not supposed to be taking on all that weight." He moved up to him, his gate normal which was a real chore to force himself to do. Looking the pack over he took Sephiroth's SI sword from the pack and pulled it over his shoulder, if nothing else he could help lighten the load some for the young boy.

Reaching down he gently took his hand wrapping his fingers around his. "Sorry, my night vision is horrible..."

Sephiroth's eyes trailed down to their joined hands, but didn't reply, instead simply curling his fingers to return the hold before averting his gaze to the terrain. It took him longer than he'd like to orient himself, picking out the landmarks they had passed to reach the campsite. They looked different in the dark, but he recognized them well enough. He kept his pace slow, something about head injuries and blood pressure hovering on the edge of his thoughts.

Tseng was grateful for the slower pace, with every step he felt pain shooting up through his hip and down into his toes. There was no doubt left in his mind something was broken, he just didn't know what. He kept a tight hold on Sephiroth's hand hoping with his mako enhanced sight he would keep him from going face first into the ground, back in Wutai he had relied heavily on his hearing at night, listening to the different play of the winds against the buildings to guide him. Right now the blood was bounding in his ears making it hard to pinpoint the world around him.

He prayed silently to Leviathan that they got to the chocobo farm soon... even though it meant being around those damn mutant chickens.

Sephiroth wasn't very sure how long it took to reach the farm. He assumed it must've been half-again as long as it had taken to reach the campsite, but time had been . . . funny since he woken up with hands bound. The fact that he'd almost overshot the Farm - before noticing a specific rock formation on on his far left instead of his near right - likely hadn't helped. The farm itself was as dark as the sky, humans and birds alike quiet with sleep.

What little adrenalin had been allowing him to get this far gave out suddenly, and he found himself crashing to his knees. He was panting as his vision started to darken, his body telling his mind it had been pushed to far.

Still with a death grip on Sephiroth's hand he slowly leaned forward putting a hand on the ground and tried to push himself up. The house was only a few hundred feet before them... It was in vain though as he had no strength left in his arm.

"Tseng. . ." Sephiroth dropped next to him, closing his eyes at the wave of vertigo that accompanied the movement. His headache hadn't improved during their trek, if anything it had worsened. He just wanted to find some dark corner to hide in until it faded. Taking a slow breath to steady himself, he pulled the older teen's arm over his shoulders again, easing to his feet.

He tried to put as little weight on Sephiroth as he could, but it wasn't as easy this time as he felt weaker than he had back at the camp. "Just leave me here and get the farmer.." Even though he was fighting off the blackness that was creeping into his vision, the black was starting to win out. He shook his head growling darkly feeling the damn tingling coming back into his throat and nose. "#%!@ mutant chickens.... should all burn in hell...."

Sephiroth hesitated, but conceded with a sigh, lowering the older teen to the ground and after a moment, shrugging the pack off as well.

His first knock, though loud to his ears, received no reaction from inside, not even a shift in breathing pattern. He could see the door shaking on the second try, even as he winced at the sound. Thankfully, it seemed enough, as he heard movement the moment the noise faded from his ears. A bearded man was the one to open it, hair more pale than it was dark, looking at him with squinting eyes that quickly widened slightly. "It's an odd hour for a SOLDIER to come knocking . . . what can I do for you?"

"My -" he paused, considering the appropriate word to use. "Companion and I were attacked - he's having trouble walking, I can't get him inside on my own." Belatedly, he realized he was leaning on the door frame

The man's eyes narrowed, and Sephiroth felt the sudden desire to shift at the examining stare. "How far is this friend of yours?"

The wording of his response seemed to settle something for the man, who all but ordered him to go inside and sit down as he pulled on a pair of boots and disappeared back outside with a flashlight in hand.

Tseng could vaguely hear the sounds of someone coming towards him, the blackness almost completely overtaking his vision. Knowing he was going to regret this later but he needed to stay conscious, he jabbed a finger hard into the spot on his hip that hurt the most. Pain flared through his body and he bit down into his lower lip a whimper leaving his throat, but it was enough to bring him back to the conscious side.

Tasting copper he pulled a face and spit the blood out, he hoped that was from his lip... It probably was as he pushed his tongue against where he had bitten. "yuck..." Pulling Sephiroth's pack closer he laid his head down no it, watching the bobbing flashlight.

"There you are," the man murmured as the glow of his flashlight landed on human and property. Yawning, he approached and crouched down beside Tseng, giving the pack a glance before deciding to come back for it. Who knew how heavy it was if a SOLDIER was carrying it. Switching the light off and tucking it into a pocket, he crouched down next to Tseng, "Let's get you inside with your friend."

It was hard to admit this, and it was one hell of a shot to his pride, but he knew he wouldn't make it to the house. "I can't walk..." Oh yeah... that was a blow to the ego, even when he had been suffering mako poisoning as a child he hadn't needed to rely on anyone to help him. Veld was going to demote him to toilet scrubber at this rate.

"Your friend said as much," the man commented. "We'll see what we can do about that once you're inside and settled."

He reached out, watching and listening for any sign of causing more injury, easing the teen upright. Gently, he pulled him over his shoulder, before slowly to his feet to start the trek back to the house.

"I can't be cured...It will kill me." He bit back a cry pressure being put on his hip being fireman carried back to the house. Getting a snoot-full of chocobo he sneezed hard, his whole body jerking. "Damn it.... Veld is so dying...." Not only was he injured he was now going to be sneezing to hell and back, oh yeah Veld was a dead man when he got back.

Sephiroth hadn't quite taken a seat, instead leaning back against a wall, distracting himself from his pounding head by taking in the location of everything in the room. None of the lights had been turned on, leaving the house lit only by what nightlight came in the curtained windows. He could make out a few vases, indistinct picture frames, a coffee maker was on the kitchen counter. The moment the door opened, he straightened back up, trailing the two into a side room that held a pair of twin beds. He hovered in the doorway as Tseng was set down on one of the beds, leaning aside and almost overbalancing as the light-dark haired man slipped back out again.

"Gaia hell..." Tseng switched to his native tongue cussing quite pretty as he shifted off his bad hip. Even though his vision was horrible at night, there was enough lighting coming in through the curtains that he could make out the silver haired teen standing at the door. "You should sit down... the bed isn't going to eat you." He tried to smile but it came out as more of a grimace as a wave of nausea washed over him.

Laying back on his back he set a hand on his stomach, but hissed feeling a pain on his right side. Gingerly he touched the tender skin and groaned. "Great... and those just healed too..." Broken ribs, how lovely... no wonder it hurt slightly to breath.

Sephiroth wasn't one for physical affection, nor one for touching, but what was a veritably unknown fact was that he was actually a very tactile person. Touch was his most trusted sense, beyond even his enhanced vision and hearing. Rather than claiming the empty bed as a seat, he sat on very end of the occupied one, as far as he could sit without touching the baseboard. Turning his head slightly, he watched Tseng through the fringe of his hair.

Seeing this a small smile crossed Tseng's face, unconsciously reaching out, his fingers brushing up against Sephiroth's. He was the exact opposite of the boy, he was a very physical person, if he liked you or was close he was always touching in some way... small little brushes as he passed you to full on glomp tackles if he was really close to you. Touch was the one thing he had been granted as comfort as a child, his mother would always hold him after his father got through with him, or he had a particularly vicious training day with the Assassins. His sister also used to cling to him, and so that was his comfort was simple touches. "You should lay down Seph...Take some of the pressure off your neck"

Sephiroth hesitated, turning his head more to properly look at the older teen. The smile there had him relaxing slightly, dipping his head in a shallow nod. He was tempted to simply lie next to him, but instinct had him rising and moving to the other bed that rested completely in the shadows. Settling with his back to the wall, he originally intended to stay awake, but soon found it hard to keep his eyes open.

By the time the mostly-grey-haired man entered the room with some potions in hand, he was fast asleep.

Tseng chuckled softly watching the young teen go and hide in the shadows. "If I didn't know better he was the Turk not me..." He said softly to himself and turned back hearing the heavy steps of the farmer. Instinct had him trying to sit up, even though the man had helped him to his home, there was still that side of him... the years of training that made him naturally wary of being seen as vulnerable around anyone he didn't know.

The man switched on a lamp near the door as he entered, Sephiroth not so much as even twitching at the increase in light. He turned a thoughtful gaze to the light-haired teen, shaking his head with an amused smile. Brandishing the potions, he crooked an eyebrow at the Turk, "I trust you don't react as badly to these as you do magic?"

"No.. I don't thankfully... Thank you." He had managed to get himself propped up against the headboard. "Do you have a phone? I am afraid those that attacked us destroyed mine. I need to contact my director." He held a hand out for the potion not removing the one gently clutching his broken ribs.
