Sword of Legends - August 1992 - Private RP

At first, Sephiroth just filed away some of the unfamiliar insults for later consideration and deciphering, but when they started using unfamiliar languages, he chose to interrupt. "Niisan... you're not trying to steal him back are you?" He kept his tone innocently curious, well, bar the touch of disappointment. It was mostly feigned, but the truth was he had considered the possibility of Katana losing interest and seeking the more familiar experience Tseng could offer him.

Both men instantly froze, and you could almost see the hackles rising and tails going bottle brushed. “Why would I steal him back, he’s the one that left me!”

“I left you? you’re the one that started sleeping with Nan most the nights!.” Several of the Turks groaned, “I thought we were over this by now...” Rod muttered rubbing his face, as the two black haired turks got into a real pissing fit, now over who left the other. Reno reached into one of the bags and pulled two bright pink rolls of duct tape. Handing one to Rude the two reached out duct taped both their mouths shut.

Sephiroth had blinked, startled and confused when the bickering turned into a proper argument. This was precisely the sort of reason he preferred to keep his mouth shut - Midgarian might be one of two languages that he spoke with the most ease... but it was also ridiculously easy to word something the wrong way and have it be taken in a completely different manner than you intended.

Not that he could've known the two were that sour over how they parted ways. They'd seemed to be on good enough terms. As they were artificially silenced, he looked away, pretending to be more interested in the water than anyone around him.

Tseng glared at Katana knowing better than to take the duct tape off until they hit land. He wrapped his arms around Sephiroth pulling him close. It had been a really long time..well a year since they had fought over what happened between them. For the most part it had been forgotten, dropped, but with both men claiming Sephiroth for two different reasons it seemed to have reignited those old slightly slightly bruised feelings.

Sephiroth remained silent, not even glancing at anyone for the time it took to reach shore. He didn't protest Tseng's embrace, but neither did he make any move to reciprocate it. It would feel too much like taking sides in an argument he hadn't meant to trigger.

Taking Sephiroth’s hand, he made sure they were almost to the hotel before ripping the duct tape off. “Ow... so grateful I don’t have facial hair..” That would have really hurt. Sighing softly he pulled Sephiroth away from the group and made him look up at him. “Seph, I’m sorry, I never told you our separation wasn’t the happiest on the planet.”

"Is that why you've been so..." He wasn't quite sure what word to use that covered it. He might be fluent in eight different dialects but that didn't mean he always knew which ones he needed. Really... there likely wasn't just one word needed to describe it.

“Why I’ve been so over protective.. yeah.. He likes to play around, but he will never really try hard for anyone. The fact that he’s waited this long and willing to wait longer.” That meant the Gongagan was serious about this. “I just don’t want you getting hurt, you’ve never had a relationship before.”

He'd never come even close to having a relationship of that sort before... but he thought he could've made far worse a choice. Balto was seeming as if he might have been one of the best possible choices he could have made. Even if he and Tseng did clash a bit. "Maybe... I will get hurt, but maybe... I won't," Sephiroth canted his head slightly, measuring his words as he looked up at his brother. "I'll still have you to come home to, won't I, Niisan?"

“Of course you would, Katana may be running for his life, but you will always have a home to come back to.” Tseng pulled Sephiroth to him, making sure to convey that very thing to him through touch. He would always be there for his cousin / brother, even if... His mind stuttered to a halt as the nightmare from the ICU came back. Why.. was he remembering that now? Shaking it from his mind, he switched his hold and gently pulled Sephiroth towards the hotel. “I just pray you never have to know the pain of heartbreak.”

It was.... comforting to have somewhere he knew he could always return to. Perhaps more so in the knowledge that there was an Assassin willing to kill to protect him who lived there. Even if he'd rather Tseng never have to kill anyone to protect him. "I hope I never do," he murmured quietly in reply.

“It’s not fun, I can tell you that much right now.” Following the group into the hotel, he had to bite his tongue at the decore. The only time he had actually been to costa del Sol was on the ship to Midgar for the cadet program. “interesting....” There was really no other way to say it, the place was decked out with seashells, palms, what had to be surfboards. “I’m assuming you and Seph are sharing a room again?” Veld moved up to them holding a key card out.

Looking around the interior in interest, Sephiroth looked up as Veld walked over, and a tiny smile formed at his uncle calling him by the shortened version of his name. Considering how his father's partner had been using his full name before... it was strangely nice to hear him use 'Seph' instead.

“I’m taking what is trying to be a smile as a yes.” He handed the two of them keys. “Your bags are already up there, go ahead and get changed and come down for breakfast then we’re going outside.” Smiling with a nod Tseng headed up to their room, which much to his horror was just as garishly decorated as the lobby.

Sephiroth considered Tseng's expression for a moment, he let out a quiet laugh as he identified it. There was only one possible cause that he could see, "You're spoiled, Niisan." He found the decorations odd himself... but that was because he'd grown up lacking any. Plain walls without any ornamentation.

Tseng shook his head making a fake gagging noise. “No spoiled is saying there isn’t enough things in the room. There is too much in this room, someone’s taste is all in their mouth.. and I have to wonder about that.” He shivered moving over to the king sized bed seeing his suitcase that had both his and Sephiroth’s clothes in it already in front of the dresser. “The colors clash, the furniture looks like it was just random assortment of woods thrown together quickly.. and if that’s a water bed i’m sleeping on the deck.”

Tseng's reaction was more amusing than the room itself. The room wasn't to his own tastes... but it was still a room, and somewhere to sleep. "Water.... bed?" Sephiroth blinked owlishly at the term. What the hell was a waterbed?

“Just what it sounds like..” He reached down and sure enough the bed jiggled and sloshed and you could see it rippling. “Yep... it’s a waterbed..” He was invading one of the shops and buying a hammock, there was no way he was taking motion sickness meds just to sleep on the bed.

Watching and hearing it shift made Sephiroth’s skin crawl. Though maybe that was because it made him inexplicably picture sleeping on some giant monster’s stomach. The thought of sleeping on something filled with water reminded him too much of a MIU. Something floating on water was completely different.

Tseng growled annoyed, but wasn’t going to &!^@% too much. This was part of the allure of costa was the beach atmosphere, and this obviously sold as it was the most popular hotel here. Didn’t mean he had to like it....

Moving to his suitcase he put it on the bed and started to pull their clothes out. “Here Seph, I brought a few pairs, mainly all shorts and light weight shirts, with your high body temperature we don’t need you overheating out here. Which reminds me... you need to drink.. a lot.”

Seeing Tseng start to unpack, he moved over so he could grab something to change into. "Drink?" Somehow he didn't think Tseng meant alcohol. Sephiroth knew he never actually drank as much water as he should, Hojo was always lecturing him over it. He had water when he was thirsty and not before.

“Yes, the sun plus the salt water will strip away the moisture from your body, need to keep hydrated. Do you sunburn?” He didn’t remember if mako helped to keep you from sun burning or if Sephiroth being as pale as he was, was going to turn into the lobster boy. While it would be entertaining to see him that red, sunburns hurt like a SOB.... at least his always did.

"I... don't know?" Sephiroth replied uncertainly. He couldn't remember ever being out in the direct sunlight on a properly hot day. Rather, real sunlight, and not the synthesized light and heat of VR training. Exactly how hot did it have to be for someone to sunburn?

Tseng thought it over, tilting his head slightly as he looked over the pale skin. “Well we can take the precaution and slather you up with sun block, or you can chance it and see if you do get burned or not.” He wasn’t taking the chance, he would be a lobster by the middle of the day if he didn’t. Grabbing his own swim trunks he quickly changed not caring that Sephiroth was in the room and sat down pulling out the sun screen getting every inch of his body that he could reach.

Sephiroth considered it while he changed his own clothes, taking a cue from Tseng, he grabbed his own trunks. If it was supposed to be that hot, he'd likely end up in the water sooner rather than later. If he did burn... well, he healed quickly, so it wouldn't last too long would it...? He didn't really want to apply anything to his skin if he didn't need to.
